Born in the “Windy City,” Chicago, Leza Labrador also known as London’s mom is a former agent who once represented models, artist, and talent and now writes and creates art because it opens up worlds of impossibilities turned possible. “In school, I was that kid that never really paid attention, living in my own world of doodles, drawings and make believe.” The product of a multicultural (half-Italian & half-mutt) upbringing, she describes her own colorful family as the love child of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and “The Golden Girls.”
From an early age, Leza has been addicted to hanging out with dogs, daydreaming, doodling and reading fantastical stories. Since her newest aspiration of attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was not attainable, she devoted herself to a career as a professional daydreamer (writer/artist) with the support of her husband a professional filmmaker and their four-legged daughter — a precocious Dachshund named London.
Leza is hopelessly addicted to everything fuzzy with paws, belly rubs (giving not receiving), mint tea, Thai mango and coconut sticky rice, painting with London (yes you heard me right, London paints ) fantasy novels and films, “The Big Bang Theory”, making people laugh, traveling, haunted houses, Halloween, and Christmas. Leza prefers life seizing moments, the kind that give you delicious stories. She enjoys dancing with London when the mood hits her (and in cars, actually anywhere), and making up silly songs early in the morning that makes her husband put a pillow over his head to try and tune her out.
It is her personal belief that there is more happiness and more tails to tell in the eyes of an animal than anywhere else in her world. In animals is where she finds her heart, soul, and stillness. Leza lives in Los Angeles, surrounded by a surprising, inspiring, clever, and fantastical group of artist that she calls friends. She remains a passionate animal-lover and animal and human rights advocate as well as an ardent supporter of environmental causes.
