Spring Foraging in the San Gabriels & Wild Food Workshop
April 29 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Re-wild your gut! Take your food fermentation fermentation skills to the next level by learning to harvest and prepare wild ingredients.
Join local naturalist Scott Nelson as we learn how to identify the abundant edible greens that grow in our very own San Gabriel mountains and then head back to Culture Club 101 for an afternoon of wild sauerkraut preparation.
Spring is an exciting time for foragers in Southern California, especially after a wet winter like the one that we’ve had this year. The creek beds are a veritable salad bar of goodness if you know what you’re looking at. Employing foraged ingredients in your fermented foods incorporates the rich microbiome that exists on wild plants, literally reconnecting your gut to nature.
Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a beautiful morning hike and inspiring hands-on class with your friends at Culture Club 101.
